Program Accreditation and Health Care Initiatives
Mission
The Program Accreditation and Health Care Initiative department supports the College's mission through accreditation, regulatory compliance and quality assurance across all accredited programs. Through collaboration with institutional and external partners, the department aims to maintain program integrity, assure barrier-free student learning experiences, and prepare graduates for professional success. The department's goal is to inspire, educate and equip all programs to embrace the value of regulatory compliance as a road map for best practices, preparing all students to compete in today's workforce.
Our team provides the following services:
Accreditation Services
- Coordinates and manages all aspects of programmatic accreditation
- Manages accreditation cycle timelines (site visits, reporting, monitoring, etc.)
- Reviews and assists in the preparation of reports (self-study, mid-cycle, quality, monitoring and progress)
- Facilitates mock site visits
- Serves as a liaison between the program staff, College and program accrediting bodies
- Provides support management of initial applications for accreditation as well as accreditor communication and documentation for sunsetting programs
Institutional and External Collaboration
- Supports the monitoring and interpretation of agency regulatory standards to assist accredited programs in meeting state, federal and industry regulations, specifically for accredited and licensure programs
- Engages with external agencies, clinical sites, industry partners, program advisory committees and professional networks to support program relevance and responsiveness
Student Support Services for Clinical Compliance
- Manages and monitors documentation within the third-party administration system to support student clinical compliance (background checks, immunizations, clinical partner compliance protocols and requirements)
- Conducts regular audits to ensure student compliance with clinical placement standards and identify opportunities for systemwide improvements
Program Support Services for Clinical Compliance
- Oversight of clinical compliance procedures to ensure adherence to expected third-party system usage and timeline protocols to promote student clinical compliance readiness
- Develops system utilization protocols and provides training on evolving standards, using audit reports and input from collaboration with programs, internal risk management and legal services departments
