Train the Trainer 

Train theTrainer is 32-hour course is designed to prepare nurses to coordinate and/or teach an ODH state approved nurse assistant training competency and evaluation program (NATCEP).



Topics Covered:

  • Basic TCEP requirements
  • Program development
  • Course material design
  • Organizing and individualizing a TCEP
  • Instructional techniques
  • Ohio Administrative Code Rules

A primary instructor (PI) must:

  • Be an RN with a current active Ohio license
  • Have a minimum of two years experience caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age.

A program coordinator (PC) must:

  • Be an RN with a current active Ohio license
  • Have a minimum of two years nursing experience as a licensed registered nurse with at least one of those years in a long term care facility.
