
Program Description
This 6-week, 160-hour program provides the student with the skills to enter the Logistics and Distribution field. Training is done in a blended learning environment combining online and instructor led methods. The Logistics and Distribution field is the movement and storage of goods from the beginning to the end of the supply chain; it is the largest piece of Supply Chain Management (SCM).
This course is designed to provide training in:
- OSHA Safety
- The 5-S Methodology (Sorting, Straightening, Systematic Cleaning, Standardizing and Sustaining)
- Industrial Powered Trucks and Forklifts
- Quality control
- Communication/teamwork
- Computer systems utilized in Logistics and Distribution
- Product receiving/storage
- Order processing
- Packaging and shipment
- Safe handling of hazardous goods
- Evaluation of transportation modes
- Customs requirements
- Dispatch and trucking operations
Prerequisites:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- 9th Grade Math Level
- 10th Grade Reading Level
