The future need for alternative sources of energy and the importance of energy efficiency are creating an increased demand for technical workers who can install alternative energy systems and evaluate building efficiency. This 352-contact hour fast-track program will provide participants with the skills necessary to compete for entry-level positions in the fields of alternative energy and energy efficiency. Through instruction by skilled professionals and hands-on project work, those successfully completing the program will demonstrate their ability to meet requirements for entry-level technical employment in these rapidly emerging fields.

This certificate-based program provides an overview of the main sources of alternative energy for residential and commercial buildings, as well as a firm technical grounding in residential energy conservation and auditing.
Career Outlook

Upon program completion, career options include entry-level positions with alternative energy and energy auditing firms. Participants can also continue training at Corporate College to develop their own residential energy auditing firm, as well as continue training in fields such as Construction Apprentice Trades and Engineering Technologies at Tri-C.
