Statewide Transfer Information
In an effort to support the transfer of credits among Ohio's public colleges and universities, the Ohio Board of Regents has established a number of transfer initiatives. The goal is to empower Ohio students to make informed course selections if they should choose to transfer between Ohio's public colleges and/or universities.
Ohio Transfer Module (TM) A specific subset of a college or university's general education requirements that represent a body of knowledge and academic skills common across Ohio colleges and universities. It contains 36-40 semester hours or 54-60 quarter hours of specified course credits in the fields of english, mathematics, arts/humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural and physical sciences and interdisciplinary coursework (optional).
Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGS) comprise Transfer Module courses and additional courses required for an academic major. A TAG is an advising tool to assist Ohio university and community college students planning specific majors to make course selections that will ensure comparable, compatible and equivalent learning experiences across the state's higher education system. A number of area specific TAG pathways in the arts, humanities, business, communication, education, health, mathematics, science, engineering, engineering technologies and the social sciences have been developed by faculty teams
Course Applicability System (CAS) A web-based program designed for the transfer student. CAS provides access to information that will help transfer students move form school to school and earn degrees in a timely manner. It provides students with direct access to course acceptability, equivalency and applicability among Ohio institutions.
