Facilities
The Challengers baseball program is home to one of the finest two year college baseball facilities in the midwest: Ron Mottl Field. Mottl Field, located at CCC's Western Campus, has a new artificial grass infield, new dugouts and a new natural grass outfield playing surface. The dimensions are 330 feet down the left field line, 400 feet to center, and 325 feet down the right field line.
A full time grounds crew takes care of our field to ensure it is in exceptional condition for our home games and practices.
Other amenities include an outstanding eight tower lighting system for night games, two batting tunnels, rest rooms, and a fully enclosed press box.
Inside the field house is an area the width of 3 basketball courts, which is used during inclement weather and for indoor practices in late fall and early spring. It's possible here to set up an entire infield--including a full batting tunnel and an area to place three pitching mounds side by side.
The weight room located in the field house is primarily used by the Baseball team during winter weight training and off-season conditioning. It is complete with free weights, a universal, a squat rack, exercise bikes, and Stairmasters.
