New Student Orientation 

GET YOUR COLLEGE CAREER OFF TO A GOOD START
As a new student, you will be required to complete the New Student Orientation in order to become acquainted with the college.

New Student Orientation includes:

  • Individual session with a counselor including: career and academic planning and goal setting, placement testing information, and assistance with selecting your courses.
  • Ask your counselor about the "SMART START" First Year Experience program starting this Fall!
  • Course Scheduling and registration.
  • Financial planning and responsibility.
  • Tutorial on navigating through the student portal, My Tri-C Space.
  • Locating campus resources including: tutoring services, Key Career Place, Campus Police, Library, Business Office.
  •  Interacting and meeting other students, Tri-C faculty, staff, and student ambassadors.
  • Ways to get involved in student life, including athletics and student organizations.
  • A mini college class to learn faculty expectations of students.

    You are encouraged to:
  • Attend on campus New Student Orientation  - schedule by calling the Counseling Center on the campus you plan to attend, after you have completed the English and Math placement tests, or have placement in English and Math assigned by your ACT scores.
  • If you are unable to attend an On Campus New Student orientation,
    you may complete an  Online Orientation
