Area of Study: Visual Communication & Design
Degree/Certificate: Associate of Applied Business degree in Visual Communication & Design with a concentration in Interactive Media
Program Description

The Interactive Media Program will prepare you for a rewarding career in the growing fi elds of web and interactive media design and development. Top-quality instruction by professionals from the fi eld, unparalleled facilities and a low student-teacher ratio provide an excellent learning environment. The curriculum is unique to Northeast Ohio, combining visual communication theory and craftsmanship with technical skills. You’ll begin with the fundamentals of design for print, interactive and online media. As you advance, you’ll be challenged with courses that explore skills required in web design and construction, digital video, animation, digital imaging, photography and visual communication. The studio/labs are equipped with the latest hardware (both PC and Macintosh computers) and industry-standard software. Through class assignments, community service projects, field experience and internships you’ll get hands-on experience creating web sites, videos, CD-ROM and DVDs. Upon completion of the program, you’ll have developed a portfolio of both print and digital work and have learned professional practices of the industry.

The goal of the Interactive Media Degree Program (part of Tri-C’s Visual Communication Center of Excellence) is to prepare our graduates for a rewarding career in the growing fields of Web, Internet and Interactive Media design and development. The curriculum is based on professional standards drawn from the practices of advertising agencies, design studios, media and internet development companies and in-house or corporate media departments. Students are assisted in the development of studio, technical and professional skills while building a strong, marketable portfolio.
