Advertising Design at Tri-C 
This program is admitting no new students effective Fall 2011.  Students currently enrolled in the program need to complete the degree by Summer 2013; no degrees will be issued for the Visual Communications – Advertising Design Concentration after that date. 

Note: Advertising Design courses have been merged into the Visual Communications and Design – Graphic Design Program; students who cannot complete the program prior to Summer 2013 should meet with a counselor for advising.

Degree/Certificate: Associate of Applied Business degree in Visual Communication & Design with a concentration in Advertising Design 

Program Sequence

The Advertising Design Program provides curriculum integrating “hands on” design practices with business and marketing education. You’ll receive a solid foundation in design, drawing, color, typography and digital graphics, along with advanced courses in advertising design and marketing. Additional subjects include public relations, direct marketing, sales promotion, media plan development and writing/editing storyboards for mass media. Unique to this major, you will study the creative strategies behind advertising and promotional campaigns, the dynamics between marketing media and their target audiences. Real-world experience is also part of the process, utilizing case studies and industry projects. The Advertising Design Program is designed to give students the knowledge and studio skills needed for a career in the advertising field. Upon completion of this program you will have a portfolio showcasing your creative design solutions, communication, marketing and technological skills.

Customized degree programs in Technical Studies can be attained by combining technical courses from a variety of visual communications areas.

Specialized lectures and labs focusing on selected topics or current issues in Photography, Digital imaging, Digital Publishing and Interactive Media are offered each semester. Formats vary from 1-day to 4-week workshops and full semester lecture and/or lab classes.
