Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get into the Plant Science & Landscape Technology program at Tri-C?
Anyone can register for classes in this program. We recommend that individuals entering the program hold a high school diploma or GED and be eligible to enroll in ENG-1010, College Composition I. Students who want to be considered for the plant science major must successfully complete PST-1300, Horticultural Botany.

Can I transfer credits to Tri-C from other horticulture programs, and will Tri-C credits transfer to horticulture programs at other institutions?
Credits for parallel coursework are accepted from other degree programs. However, we cannot accept credits from non-degree programs.
Tri-C Plant Science & Landscape Technology students have successfully transferred credits to other associate degree programs and to baccalaureate degree programs.

If I complete the Landscape Technician Certificate, can my credits be applied toward the Associate of Applied Science degree?
Absolutely! The courses taken by certificate students are some of the same courses that a degree student must complete, making them transferable to the degree track.
