CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE / CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT PROGRAM
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) has been educating physician assistants for 40 years, graduating our first class in 1972. Our graduates are active participants in the healthcare community practicing in primary care, surgery, education, and research throughout the United States.
The Cuyahoga Community College / Cleveland State University PA Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission for the Education of the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA). In partnership with Cleveland State University, we offer a challenging 28 month physician assistant education program that will award students a Master of Science in Health Sciences degree as well as a certificate in Physician Assistant Studies upon program completion.
Our program has a state of the art lab with two simulated operating rooms, a seven bed simulation clinic, a virtual practice room, and a Human Patient Simulator lab with Standardized Patient rooms that provide our students virtual and hands on training during the didactic phase.

- Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited college or university (submit verifying transcripts)
- GPA requirements
- The program will utilize the GPA calculation by CASPA (Central Application Service for Physician Assistants) when
- Minimum Overall GPA of 3.0
- Minimum Science GPA of 3.0 reviewing GPA requirements.
- Graduate Records Exam (GRE) is required. Official scores are to be submitted directly to Cuyahoga Community College with designation code 3877.
- Successful completion of prerequisites with “C” or better (“C-“ is not acceptable).
- All science courses must have laboratory component to be considered acceptable for transfer.
- All science courses must have been completed no more than 10 years prior to the anticipated date of matriculation to Cuyahoga Community College / Cleveland State University PA program.
- Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Applicants are required to shadow a certified physician assistant for a minimum of 40 hours. This is arranged by the applicant and may be done with one or several physician assistants. See shadowing form link for verification of completion. Form will be submitted at time of interview.
