Each week, depending upon the clinical nursing course, students will devote approximately 4-5 hours in the classroom, 6-17 hours in the clinical setting and a minimum of 2-4 hours in the College practice laboratory. It is an expectation that students will spend approximately two hours per week viewing videos, utilizing software; and practicing and mastering skills. Student will spend approximately 4 ½ days per week for the required classroom, nursing skills laboratory, and clinical activities throughout the program.

- Following successful completion of NURS-160A and while enrolled in NURS-160D, students will be required to complete the Award of Comparable Credit: Assessment of prior Learning form requesting by-passed credit for NURS-1300, 1450 & 1600 (18 credit hours).

SPRING SEMESTER
NURS-160A, Access to Registered Nursing, first 8 weeks of semester (3 credits)
NURS-160D, Health Deviations I for LPNs, second 8 weeks of semester (3 credits)
- Lecture: 1 evening/week for 4 hours
- Clinical: 1 evening/week for 6 hours
FALL SEMESTER
NURS-1701, Community/Home Nursing, first 8 weeks of semester (1 credit)
- Lecture: 1 evening/week for 2 hours
NURS-2300, Specialized Health Care, 16 weeks (9 credits)
- Lecture: 2 evenings/week for total of 5 hours (3 hrs one evening; 2 hrs the second evening)
- Clinical: 2 evenings/week (6 hrs/evening) for total of 12 hrs/week
- Evenings begin at 2:30 PM
- Saturday/Sunday may be scheduled (7A – 1P)
SPRING SEMESTER
NURS-2400, Health Management, first 4 weeks of semester (1 credit)
- Lecture: 2 evenings per week for 2 hours each
NURS-2500, Health Deviations II, 12 weeks (9 credits)
- Lecture: Blended Learning course, 1 evening/week on-campus for 3 hours (on-line work for additional content)
- Lab: 8 evenings on-campus for 2 hours/evening during semester (Plus additional time for practice and test out)

Course: Nursing 160 A – ACCESS to Registered Nursing
Description:
ACCESS in Nursing is designed to ease the transition of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and students with prior Nursing Education into the Associate Degree Nursing Program by enhancing their Nursing knowledge with concepts deemed void in the students previous Nursing Education.
Prerequisites:
Departmental approval. Completion of requirements for admission into the first clinical nursing course; graduate of a state approved Practical Nursing program; licensed to practice as a LPN in Ohio with no license restrictions; credentialed to administer medications (NAPNES, OOPNE, or OBN); one year practice as a LPN; or recommended by the ACCESS school of enrollment.
Cuyahoga Community College Associate Degree of Nursing Program
Course: Nursing 160 D Health Deviations I for LPNs
Description:
Designed for Licensed Practical Nurses entering the Associate Degree Nursing program with advanced credit. Introduces nursing curriculum themes. Focuses on health deviations related to fluid and electrolyte balance, urologic disorders, diabetes and oncology.
Prerequisites:
