Program Description

This ornamental horticulture program prepares students for entry-level to middle management positions in the garden center industry.  Knowledgeable garden center professionals are often called upon to provide advice to customers about the use and appropriateness of various outdoor and indoor plant materials, plant pest and disease problems and turfgrass issues.  Much of the course work of this landscape program is also applicable to other areas of horticulture.

The curriculum of this two-year, full-time program includes a summer field experience between the first and second years and is composed of a balance of classroom, laboratory and practical educational experiences.  Classes are available both day and evening and students may enroll on either a full- or part-time basis.
