Environmental, Health and Safety Technology
The Environmental, Health & Safety Technology (EHST) program will prepare you for the field of environmental health and safety. If you enjoy working outdoors, you can choose the Environmental Field Technology option and learn, for instance, how to collect water and soil samples and evaluate and clean up environmental contamination. The EH&S Management option will prepare you for work in the public or private sector, ensuring the government and industry comply with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
If you are an existing EH&S or other degreed professional, the program can help you update your knowledge and skills through a one-year certificate.
The EHST program offers day, evening and Web-based distance learning courses, as well as weekend classes and 2 accelerated courses.
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following program outcomes:

(1) MATH-1800-1819/2800-2819 & 1820/2820 may not be used to meet this requirement. |

(2) Minimum of 8 semester credits of Arts & Hum/Soc & Beh Sci required. |

(3) BIO 1060/106L recommended for students in Option B. |
|
|
(4) BIO 1050/105L recommended for students in Option A. |
|
|
(5) Any higher level CHEM course will be accepted in place of CHEM-1010 except CHEM-1800-1819/2800-2819 & 1820/2820. |

|
(6) EHST elective course must have written departmental approval before registering for course. |
