A Day in the Life

Classroom experiences may seem somewhat alienating at times, leaving students with the feeling of every man for himself. But that thought doesn’t seem to cross the minds of EHST students at Tri-C.

Whether you choose to take courses in a traditional classroom or on the Web, the curriculum in the EHST program is designed to foster teamwork. Students not only work closely with each other, they also receive professional, one-on-one guidance from the program manager, the instructors and professors, and the tutors in the Learning Center.

Courses such as EHST-2380, Risk Assessment, are taught in a style similar to on-the-job training. Students do research, request proposals, and make decisions as if it were their job. The hands-on process makes learning easier.

And the skills students develop in the classroom can be applied to real-world opportunities offered by the program. The EHST program exposes students to jobs, networking seminars, internships, scholarships, and field experiences that can only bolster their achievement in the field.
