Accreditation
Cuyahoga Community College's Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education is accredited by the Ohio Department of Education to prepare students for state teacher licensure as Pre-Kindergarten Associate teachers.

Articulation agreement with Starting Point:
In addition, the college has an articulation agreement with Starting Point’s non-credit training for the Child Development Associate Credential. A candidate with this credential may present their certificate to College Counselors or the Program Manager, and waive 3 credits of the ECED 1010 course. The fourth credit ECED 101 B: Theories of Child Development must be completed with a grade of 2.0, or C, to earn the four credits.

To become a teacher at the kindergarten or primary grade level, a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is required. Students planning to continue studies at 4-year institutions should speak with Counseling.
