Veterans Upward Bound 

Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) provides free comprehensive support services to eligible U.S. veterans interested in pursuing a college program of study. Support services are designed to help veterans’ complete preparatory coursework, increase their access to college, develop academic skills, and remain enrolled in and graduate from a program of postsecondary education.

Serving U.S. Military Veterans Since 1973

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Low income and/or first generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor's degree)
  • US military veterans and reservists who served at least 180 days active duty other than for training in the U.S. armed forces (waiver available for recently discharged combat veterans)
  • Military discharge other than dishonorable (DD214 required)  Click here to order copy of your DD214
  • Desire to enroll in a program of postsecondary education and demonstrate academic need as well as academic potential

Veterans College Access Program (VCAP):

  • Academic Enrichment Program:
  • 9 week developmental refresher courses in mathematics, English, science and basic computer skills.
  • Summer Bridge Program:
  • 6 week college study skills, time and stress management, life role planning, career exploration, personal financial planning, and basic computer skills worskhops.
