Online Learning Student Assessment (OLSA)
What is the Online Learning Student Assessment (OLSA)?
As a student at Tri-C®, you have the opportunity to complete the Online Learning Student Assessment (OLSA). The purpose of the OLSA is to prepare you to succeed both in the classroom and in the online learning environment. You can find the OLSA in the My Courses module of Blackboard. It will be available on the first day of the term.
The OLSA should take 45 minutes to an hour to complete, but the investment of your time now can save you time later. The OLSA helps determine how well you navigate technology, use your study skills and practice good academic communication skills.
The assessment includes three graded sections: Technology, Study Skills and Communication Skills. If necessary, you may also need to complete the Technology Review section. Finally, you will be introduced to some of the many resources available to support your success as a Tri-C student.
There are two ways to successfully complete the OLSA. Students who complete all three graded sections and achieve a 70% or higher in Technology will complete the assessment with no additional requirements; those who do not achieve a 70% or higher in Technology must also complete the Technology Review section.
Whether taking face-to-face, blended or online courses, the skills covered in this assessment are key to your success as a student at Cuyahoga Community College.
