Hot Shot: Quintin Dove Scorches Nets to Claim Weekly Conference Award
Sophomore forward leads nationally ranked Challengers to three wins
Winning seems to be contagious for the men’s basketball team at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).
Sophomore forward Quintin Dove earned Division II Player of the Week honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for his performance Nov. 27-Dec. 3. He is the third Challenger honored by the conference in the season’s first five weeks.
Dove averaged 17 points per game last week while shooting a blistering 73 percent, making 19 of 26 shots. He also grabbed a dozen rebounds per game as the nationally ranked Challengers raised their record to 10-0.
On the season, Dove leads Tri-C in scoring and blocked shots and is second in rebounds.
Dove, of Euclid, is working toward an Associate of Arts degree at Tri-C. He recently received a full athletic scholarship to play next season with the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Division I NCAA school.
Tri-C players have claimed three of the first five OCCAC Player of the Week awards this season. Dove joins teammates Devon Robinson and Wade Lowman in receiving the honor.
The Challengers play their home games at Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus gymnasium, located at the corner of East 30th Street and Community College Avenue in Cleveland. View the full team schedule.
