Harvard Professor Alvin Poussaint to Address Media's Impact on Children and Society

HIGHLAND HILLS – As part of Cuyahoga Community College’s (Tri-C®) Celebrating Diversity Series, Dr. Alvin Poussaint will speak on the topic, “The Media’s Impact on Children and Society,” Thursday, November 19, at 11:30 a.m. in the Eastern Campus Performing Arts Center, 4250 Richmond Road. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.
Dr. Alvin Poussaint is a professor of psychiatry and faculty dean for student affairs at the prestigious Harvard Medical School. He serves as director of the Media Center of the Judge Baker Children’s Center in Boston. He was a script consultant to one of the most popular and groundbreaking television programs, “The Cosby Show.” He has also served as an educational consultant for the shows “Little Bill” and “Fatherhood” for Nickelodeon. Poussaint continues to work with Bill Cosby, in their newest collaboration, a book titled “Come On, People! On the Path from Victims to Victors.”
The Celebrating Diversity Series is sponsored by Tri-C’s Human Resources Department, in conjunction with the Eastern, Metropolitan and Western Campus Offices of Student Life and Athletics. Tri-C Eastern Campus is located at the corner of Richmond and Harvard Roads, a quarter mile west of I-271.
