CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga Community College’s Corporate College East has been selected as one of five sites nationally—and the only community college—to host a hearing that will facilitate the drafting of regulatory language for the Higher Education Act (HEA). Testimony at the hearing is open to anyone who would like to comment on Title IV (the financial aid section of the Act) and on Section 207c, which concerns teacher education programs that have eligibility terminated (provisions at Section 207b(2) of the HEA).
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with a lunch break from noon to 1:00 p.m.) at Corporate College East, a division of Cuyahoga Community College, 4400 Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights.
The three panelists from the U.S. Department of Education who will be holding the hearing are: Dan Madezelan and Gail McLarnon from the Office of Postsecondary Education, and Harold Jenkins from the Office of General Counsel. Presenters will be asked to sign-in to testify, and may have up to ten minutes to speak.
Questions about the HEA hearing should be directed to Claire Rosacco, Tri-C’s Vice President of Government Relations & Community Outreach, at (216) 987-4804, or to Marty Guthrie, U.S. Department of Education, at (202) 219-7031.
