PARMA – Cuyahoga Community College’s associate of applied science degree in medical assisting, currently offered at the Metro and Eastern Campuses, will be offered for the first time this fall on the Western Campus. The program will consist of part-time evening classes that begin at 5 p.m. and run Monday through Thursday. Certain prerequisites must be met prior to acceptance.

As one of the fastest growing fields in Northeast Ohio, the medical assistant is a multi-skilled professional who assists physicians with the administrative and clinical aspects of patient care. In order to prepare for the demands of this field, Tri-C’s program includes courses in administrative, clinical, and communication skills; ethical and legal standards of medical practice; and a hands-on clinical practicum experience.

The program has a 95 percent pass rate after certification and a 91 percent employment rate upon program completion.
