MUREP Aerospace Academy (MAA)
Minority University Research Education Project (MUREP) Aerospace Academy (MAA) is designed to expose historically underrepresented youth, grades K-12, to multiple hands-on activities related to the fields of science, engineering, mathematics, and aerospace professions. The ultimate goal is to increase the number of students in the identified populations who enroll in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) academic majors in college.
About MAA at Tri-C:
AT NO COST TO THE PARENTS...
The MUREP Aerospace Academy (MAA) will engage K-12 students on Saturday mornings at Tri-C's Metropolitan Campus in three 8-week sessions each year. In addition, two one week-long sessions are held each summer. While students are attending the classes, parents and guardians are invited to participate in the MAA Family Café during the academic year where parents and family members experience interactive STEM hands-on activities, lessons, parenting skills, and guest speaker presentations that support whole family learning that prepare students for college or technical fields. This forum encourages parents to share best practices of effective ways to support students interested in STEM fields.
MAA offers fun STEM education activities including field trips while focusing on Aerospace and Earth Science. This grant-funded program is open to ALL students in ALL districts in Cuyahoga County, including students who are home-schooled.
MAA serves students during the academic year and summer sessions.
