Sunset, Salsa & Scholarships
Warm weather, a beautiful sunset, festive salsa music, and a savory menu by Sammy’s were among the highlights of Sunset, Salsa & Scholarships, the Tri-C Foundation’s 2008 spring benefit held on June 14 to support scholarships for Tri-C students. The evening raised $200,000 for the Foundation’s Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Addresses by Jerry Kelsheimer, Chairperson, Tri-C Foundation; Dr. Jerry Sue Thornton, Tri-C President; Jay Coury, Chairperson, Cuyahoga Community College Board of Trustees; and Vievera Rosel, Tri-C nursing student and scholarship recipient underscored the importance of the evening. A very special thank you is extended to our gracious hosts, Bridget and Bernie Moreno, for welcoming more than 200 guests into their Westlake home to benefit such an important cause. The Tri-C Foundation also thanks artist Hector Vega for his beautiful painting, “Aspire,” featured in our event materials and the evening’s raffle.
