Who Can Benefit
Lean Six Sigma is a proven methodology for any organization. Individuals throughout the entire organization can make a significant impact as a Certified Lean Six Sigma Belt holder.
An individual's role will determine the level of involvement and type of certification most beneficial.
Champion / White Belt (Executive Management) - need to understand the basic concepts and commitment required to conduct and implement projects of this nature. They must be willing to commit the necessary resources and serve as a primary driver when organizational obstacles arise.
Yellow Belts (Subject Matter Experts / Part time project participants) – serve as the experts within a project team. These individuals have detailed knowledge of a particular process or influencing processes. They may not be required to fully participate in all aspects of the project, but will be called upon when technical aspects arise. Yellow belts are from all levels within the organization. They should be those individuals with the most knowledge about any single or groups of processes.
Green Belts (Project team members / small project leads) – have a more detailed understanding of the tools used in Leans Six Sigma and can perform much of the necessary review, analysis and implementation within a project. Green Belts may also lead smaller less complicated projects. They have most of the necessary skills to complete projects requiring limited statistical analysis. Green Belt certification is usually sought by Supervisors and mid level management.
Black Belts (Project leads / Organizational change leaders) – work directly with Executive Management to lead large organizational-wide implementation and projects. They are able to provide full analysis of processes using the full range of tools presented in this program including statistical process analysis. Black Belts are trained to use MiniTab© software to filter numerous potential process impact factors and target those with the biggest return and influence on any given process.
