Industrial Maintenance - Electricity Fundamentals

This is an introductory course in Industrial Maintenance Electricity Fundamentals that covers concepts of basic electrical skills, instruction in theory and application, and needs in an industrial setting. Topics include views, dimensioning, metric systems, electrical blueprint reading, fraction to decimal conversion, electrical and component symbols. Participants are also introduced to National Electrical Code (NEC) Safety Codes and interpretation, preventative and predictive maintenance for electrical systems, and much more.
Industrial Motors and Motor Controls

Participants will be introduced to theory and application of industrial-size motors and related control systems used in industrial environments through hands-on activities. Topics include maintaining electric motors, motor protection, motor control devices and functions, and motor control circuitry.
Industrial National Electric Code

This class is an introduction to the use of the National Electrical Code (NEC). The main focus of the course is practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity. Code book structure, terminology, load calculations, wire sizing, and general electrical assumptions will also be addressed.

Topics include the application of industrial implementation of PLCs requiring programming, program troubleshooting, timers, and counters.

This course will address the programming and application of programmable logic controllers (PLC's). Coverage will include sequencers, shift registers, PLC installation, editing, troubleshooting, process control, data acquisition, and computer-controlled machines and processes. A final project is required for this course.
