Performing Arts Series
This year, Tri-C Presents Performing Arts Series brings you the world with artists from Isreal, Brazil and Argentina. Beginning with The Manhattan Transfer's 45th anniversary tour, the season includes two spectacular dance companies - Grupo Corpo and Che Malambo - and two original and powerful jazz presentations.
Dominick Farinacci's multimedia concert The Mayor and The People - complete with big band, narration, gospel choir and vocalists - reflects Cleveland's struggles and the pivotal role Carl Stokes played in the history of the city. We are honored to present this free concert at the beautiful Maltz Performing Arts Center at Temple-Tifereth Isreal as part of the Stokes 50th anniversary celebration.
The final concert of the season is an exploration of the blues from the Peidmont region of North Carolina. Conceived and written by pianist Gerald Clayton - one of the outstanding pianists on the jazz scene today - the theatrical work includes a gospel choir and tap dancer.
