Dance Academy students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This class emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate with a final performance.
Director and Choreographer of the Academy is renowned artists Terence Greene. His love for choreography and teaching young people is evident in his extensive credits of schools, professionals, and dance companies with which he has worked nationally and internationally. Spring 2018 Semester Dates
- Saturday, January 13th, 2018, 12pm - 4pm Mandatory Dance Academy Placement Day
Please call 216.987.6145 to pre-register for Placement Day. On Placement Day, please report to the Metro Campus Mainstage Theatre at 12pm sharp for a short parent orientation. After the orientation, students will be split into groups based on age, and will be asked to perform a small series of dance routines to assess their skill level. Once their skill level is determined, payment is then required. Students have until their first day of class on Saturday, February 3rd, to make their payment. Payment is accepted by credit card over the phone, or by check or money order by mail or in person. We do not accept cash.
