Men's basketball starts 2016-17 campaign 8-0
November 29, 2016
For the second time in three years, the Cuyahoga Community College men’s basketball team has had a perfect November.
The Challengers routed the Ohio Christian University junior varsity team 103-52 on Nov. 19, running their record to 8-0 on the young season. The perfect November mark matches the 2014-15 Tri-C squad, which notched a 5-0 November record en route to a 6-0 start.
This year’s Tri-C squad is led by a quartet of freshman averaging double figures in points per game: Wade Lowman (13.4 PPG), Brad Karn (13.3 PPG), Quintin Dove (12.7 PPG) and Devon Robinson (12.7 PPG).
Both Robinson and Lowman are averaging double-doubles on the young season – in addition to their scoring output, the pair are averaging 10.6 and 10.4 rebounds per game, respectively.
The Challengers’ next game is Friday in Batavia, N.Y. against Genesee Community College. Tri-C defeated Genesee in Cleveland on Nov. 9, 88-73. Their next home game is Saturday at 2 p.m. against Mercyhurst North East, followed by home games against Erie Community College (Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m.), Lansing Community College (Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.) and Edison State Community College (Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.).
The Challengers’ home court is at the Metropolitan Campus Recreation Center on E. 30th Street. Access the interactive Metro Campus map for a visual guide.
