Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Urges Revisions to Dual Enrollment
January 08, 2014
The Plain Dealer reports today that the Ohio Board of Regents is urging changes to dual enrollment programs that offer high school students free college credit.
The newspaper reported:
"[Board of Regents Chancellor] John Carey was required in the recent budget to submit recommendations by Dec. 31 to legislators so they could establish the College Credit Plus program to be implemented this fall.
" 'There were two overriding considerations in developing these recommendations: creating seamless and equitable pathways for qualified high school students across all demographic populations to access and benefit from College Credit Plus; and creating a collaborative culture between K-12 and higher education that promotes and embraces College Credit Plus and works to maximize its full educational potential,' Carey wrote in his introduction to the report."
