Program Description

Welcome to Cuyahoga Community College's Division of Nursing Education. Nursing, as a program of study, is among the most demanding and rigorous. As you plan to enroll, recognize that in order for you to succeed, you will have to dedicate a lot of time and energy studying and fulfilling the requirements of the program, but in the end, the reward is worth the effort.

Nurses have an important, influential role in health care delivery. As a nurse, you will derive satisfaction from knowing that you are able to help start a life, and support individuals who must go on with life.

	Notes
	(1) CHEM-1010 and CHEM-1020 will be accepted in place of BIO-1100. Recommended for students planning to transfer to a BSN program.
	(2) Effective January 2008, students applying to the Nursing program must have completed MATH-1200. Students who apply to the Nursing program prior to January 2008 may use MATH-1141 to meet this requirement. MATH-1800-1819/2800-2819 & 1820-2820 may not be used to meet this requirement.
	(3) Minimum 8 semester credits of Arts & Hum/Soc & Beh Sci required--must include PSY-1010 and PSY-2020.
	(4) NURS-160A is a bridge course that replaces NURS-1300, 1450 and 1600.
	(5) LPN's accepted into the Cuyahoga Community College Nursing program are required to take NURS-160D.
