Description: This program will include a review of the anatomy of the heart, its cardiovascular and electrical system. A brief description of the most common cardiac-related conditions will be addressed as well as the types of non-invasive and invasive testing used to diagnose and/or treat these conditions. Students will be given examples of specific coding scenarios and the common modifiers used in cardiology coding.

Learning Outcomes: The participant will: 1.Achieve an understanding of common tests used to rule-out or rule-in heart related diagnoses. 2. Gain fundamental insight into interventional cardiology. 3. Be able to assign ICD9-CM and CPT codes for basic cardiology coding.
