Description: Explores differences between traditional and electronically-accessed legal research. Students examine theoretical and practical aspects of computer-assisted legal research (CALR), formulate research requests, and process, compile, and evaluate research using commercial data base, CD-ROM databases, and Internet. Students apply both Boolean and "Natural Language" search methods. Students locate and use "The Ohio Rules of Appellate Procedure" to prepare appellate brief using Ohio citation format.
Prerequisites: PL-1300 Civil Procedure, and PL-1400 Basic Legal Research and Writing.
