Description: Focuses on development of assessment skills including obtaining a health history, performing physical assessment of the adult, and evaluating physiologic changes related to aging. Major emphasis on developing interviewing skills, assessing cultural factors, and utilizing basic assessment techniques. Documentation and reporting of findings discussed. Laboratory screening procedures introduced.
Prerequisites: Departmental approval: admission to Associate Degree Nursing program or Practical Nursing program.
