Description: Theory and techniques required by the medical assistant to perform advanced procedures in the physicians office, clinic, or family practice center. Assisting the physician with specialized examinations and treatments; explanations of specialized diagnostic and laboratory procedures; the medical assistants role in educating the patient in treatment and prevention of diseases, as they all pertain to the following systems: Integumentary, Musculoskeletal, Senses, Respiratory, Circulatory, Digestive, Nervous, Urinary, and Reproductive. Routine maintenance of equipment and supply inventory. Continue to strengthen and reinforce the skills of vital signs and injections.
Prerequisites: MA-1400 Basic Clinical Medical Assisting.
