Description: Comprehensive coverage of broad areas of infant and toddler development and care with special emphasis on developmentally appropriate practices for adults who work with children ages birth to three. Major developmental milestones in infant and toddler growth; creation of safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for children under three. Selection of materials and equipment for center or home-based care; analysis of professional standards for high quality interactions between adults and very young children.
Prerequisites: ENG-1010 College Composition I; and ECED-1010 Introduction to Early Childhood Education: Childrens Development and Programs or concurrent enrollment; or ECED-101A, ECED-101B, ECED-101C, and ECED-101D.
