Description: Introduction to atomic structure and bonding as basis for understanding valence, formulas, compounds and chemical reactions. Measurement, stoichiometry, states of matter, solutions, ionization, equilibria, acids, bases and pH, and applications in daily life.
Prerequisites: MATH-0960 Beginning Albegra II or MATH-0980 Intensified Beginning Algebra, or MATH-1060 Survey of Mathematics; or eligibility for MATH-1141 Applied Algebra and Mathematical Reasoning or departmental approval: equivalent knowledge or skills.
