Experiential Learning

Experiential learning enriches the student’s education because work experiences reinforce what is learned in the classroom. In addition, exposure to real world experiences and career options promotes the student’s sense of independence, confidence, and marketability. It is consistent with the college’s Mission Statement, “To provide high quality and affordable educational opportunities and services ….that promote individual development and improve the overall quality of life…”

“Co-op is a great way for students to complement their classroom instruction with real-world experiences in an office. I have had wonderful feedback both from the student and the employer about the learning experience gained through the co-op. In addition to earning money on the job, students are better able to see the administrative and corporate environment and gain a better understanding of what it means to be a professional.”

- Linda Muren, Assistant Professor, Accounting
